{"id":11351,"date":"2015-07-15T22:40:33","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T02:40:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/?p=11351"},"modified":"2015-07-15T22:40:33","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T02:40:33","slug":"arboretum-honoured-with-2015-environmental-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newspapers-online.com\/auroran\/arboretum-honoured-with-2015-environmental-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Arboretum honoured with 2015 Environmental Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Aurora Community Arboretum was recognized with the Ontario Horticultural Association\u2019s (OHA) 2015 Environmental Award this month. <\/p>\n<p>The Arboretum was recognized for their efforts in creating an \u201curban oasis\u201d in Aurora, a focus area for passive recreation, programs for nature appreciation and education, and their ongoing efforts to promote \u201ceco-awareness.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The OHA said they have noticed \u201ccommunity volunteers who contribute to plantings at the Arboretum take personal ownership and return often to the Arboretum.
