Set in London, Ontario, the play by award winning Thornhill resident Florence Gibson-McDonald, tells the story of a housewife who disappears without a trace. Was she kidnapped? Was she murdered by her hard-drinking husband? Is it an insurance scam? Did she simply and unaccountably walk away from her family of three young children? Or was it something else entirely? The answer is up to OPP investigating detective Carol Seaforth, and the audience, to determine. Despite being a mystery, this is just as much a look at relationships, and the changes that may occur in people's lives, with a few intertwined stories playing out on the stage. The OPP officer trying to prove herself on an important case, perhaps to the detriment of her personal life, is played by Angie Sapalovski. The two men influencing her life through the events of the story are two husbands; her own neglected husband Ian, played by Joe Costa, and the missing woman's angry husband Trevor, played by Imre Szabo. Rounding out the cast is the trio of workers at a nearby cafe, played by Susan Lane, Jamie Defoe and George Khajonian, who may or may not have the clue to solving the mystery, as well as the missing woman's rebellious oldest daughter Michelle, played by Maeve Simon. The set is very simple yet effective, and the many changes between the three main locations are performed seamlessly. This is a serious play that builds slowly and will keep you guessing until the end. Evening performances of “Missing” continue at Theatre Aurora, 150 Henderson Drive, October 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 30 and 31, as well as November 1 and 2, with a matinee October 27. Tickets are available through the box office at 905-727-3669. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- Excerpt: Theatre Aurora continues its run of Canadian-based plays with the mystery drama “Missing”.
