Taxpayers shouldn’t take a hit over “NIMBYs” at Highland Gate

<content-encoded>As a taxpayer, I am not looking forward to a tax increase – Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) hearings are expensive – precipitated by a group of NIMBYs over their differences with Geranium's plan for Highland Gate.
Of course, a hearing is their right.
Perhaps the NIMBYs can moderate their differences and settle the dispute at an informal hearing held before the court case happens.
Should the Highland Gate residents feel they are being short changed and wish to proceed to court, then perhaps they would like to pay the Town's legal costs?
Geranium Corp. are well respected builders/developers. Do you think they would go to the OMB if they thought they would lose?
The way I see it anyhow.
