Their goal is to create awareness and to remind you of the importance of working smoke alarms, CO2 detectors and home escape planning. For further information about this campaign please contact CYFS at 905-895-9222, Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., requesting assistance from their Smoke Alarm Campaign Officers. You can also visit their website at www.cyfs.ca, or you can drop in at the Aurora Seniors' Centre and pick up an information package on ”Stay Fire Smart Campaign.” We urge our members and non-members to take advantage of this campaign, as it will only last until the first week of October. We did, and received excellent service from two Campaign Officers who visited our home in Aurora. They checked our smoke alarms, replaced the batteries as required, checked our CO2 detector and fire extinguisher and advised us on fire safety tips. Edith and Donald Strupat Foundation A sincere thank you for their generous donation to the Aurora Seniors Association. These funds were used towards our purchase and installation of larger capacity, new BBQ equipment. Donald is a member of our Seniors Association. YR Senior 55+ Senior Summer Games Congratulations to our member, Joan Best, who received a Silver medal in the Carpet Bowling event held in York Region. We missed mentioning her name as a medal winner in the last issue. We regret the error.
