SENIOR SCAPE: Our Woodcarvers are Tops

By Charles Sequeira

Members of the Aurora Seniors Association Carvers recently attended the “Magic in Wood” annual wood carving show and competition presented by the Ontario Woodcarvers Association. There were approximately 1,000 carvings vying for prizes and ribbons in 28 different categories.
Our member Terry Kelly placed second with his work “Runaway Dog Sled” in the novice level. Fred Ash placed second with his relief carving “The Blue Heron” in the intermediate level.
These carvings are on display in the lobby cabinet at the Seniors' Centre for you to take a look at.
There was a show and tell section where carvers' work was on display for public viewing and questions were answered. The Carvers were represented by Barbara Brown, Terry Kelly, Marlene Ash and Fred Ash at the display.

Pool and Billiards Room
If you would like to play Snooker, Billiards or Pool, you are most welcome. If you are a beginner, or have not played for a few years, please contact Paul Pandolfi at the Seniors' Centre to get started. Paul will arrange a few lessons for you (if needed), and introduce you to some of the other players. We have women and men participating. The pool tables are available for play every day.

Please come with your questions that we may answer about stories you have heard as to how to treat seizures.
