Reader “shocked” by veteran support claims(Re: Serving Canada's veterans “is one of the highest priorities of government: Conservative candidate, September 3) I was truly shocked when I read Mr. Menegakis' letter on the support that he claims that his party provides our veterans and that his party recognizes the sacrifice and service that Canadian veterans have made. What a joke. Just because the Conservatives lay wreaths, or that Harper visited a Legion, does not mean that they care. What about the claw backs? What about the fighting the veterans in court over benefits? What about the lifelong pensions being withdrawn? The list goes on and on. His statement is almost as humourous as Harper stating that we are not in a recession or that there is no need for an inquest into missing Aboriginal women. And this list goes on and on. How many people are going to be fooled by these lies? And yes, Mr. Menegakis, you have not been elected in Aurora regardless of your explanation. What are you and Stevie smoking? Nigel Kean Aurora |
