As The Auroran went to press, Superintendent Yvonne Martin Daley of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, confirmed their Major Investigations Task Force had discovered a new piece of evidence after acquaintances held for questioning earlier this month had been released. “We are working on some very strong leads,” she said. “We had to release the persons we had in custody because the kind of information we would have wanted [from them] we didn't get. We are working on some new leads coming out of some forensic evidence we got on the ground.” Martin Daley added further information would be forthcoming later this week. Lewis-McFarlane's body was discovered in her Discovery Bay, Jamaica home on December 30. An autopsy revealed blunt force trauma and strangulation as the cause of death. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- Excerpt: Police investigating the murder of Aurora resident Shirley Lewis-McFarlane were checking into a new lead Tuesday.
