If he had hair, he'd get The Gallo(Re: Why do good people avoid running for public office?) I read with great interest Councillor Gallo's Letter to the Editor in last week's edition of the Auroran. I am proud to have good people like John Gallo and most others on Council represent the residents of Aurora. Their job is not an easy job. The anonymous writer who referred to the “three stooges” is obviously in political alignment with others, for whatever reason. I personally detest such unenlightened myopic self-interest. A Council that is so divided on every issue, however small or large, for reasons of political motivation, is generally unproductive and, frankly, unhealthy for the community. I hope that with experience they can learn to do a better job by respecting each other and working for the common good of the residents. Just take a look south of the border (The United States, not Richmond Hill!) and see the results of political dysfunction! It is a difficult decision to take time from your family and your career to serve in your community. As for John's hair, if I had any hair left on my head, I'd go into the barbershop and proudly say “Give me The Gallo”. I agree that more people with the required talents, knowledge and energy should step forward and run for political office. And, oh yes, I forgot to say, integrity. Keep up the good work Mr. Gallo.
