Aurorans celebrate Canada Day in the Park

Aurorans of all ages flocked to Lambert Willson Park last Tuesday, July 1, to mark Canada Day in style. Capped by a dazzling fireworks display, activities throughout the day included activities designed to give a cross-country tour of Canada right here at home, and tributes to the Beatles, Tom Petty, and Fleetwood Mac.

A hearty breakfast of pancakes where whipped up (and flipped up) by the Optimist Club of Aurora

Although it originated in Scotland, truly Canadian curling gave youngsters a challenge!

Sylvia met up with a friendly camel at the petting zoo.

Ardy Sarraf picked up where Paul McCartney left off as a member of "The Fab Four" tribute.

Anna Leeming portraye Stevie Nicks in the Fleetwood Mac tribute band Fleetwood Nicks.

...also in the band: Gerry Parsons as Tom Petty.
