A local team of minor hockey players are ready for the national spotlight in their television debut next Saturday.

The PeeWee AE Aurora Tigers will be seen by millions on the nationally-broadcast Hockey Night in Canada on November 7, during the opening credits of the CBC program.

In the credits, CBC is known for using clips of minor hockey teams from across Canada as a lead-in to the NHL games on Saturday night.

Head coach Bart Loria said the team got the opportunity through the Scotiabank Hockey Club sponsorship program, a community hockey program in which over 1,000 Scotiabank branches across Canada financially support a local team.

“We’re the only York Region team featured this year.”

Loria would like to thank the Bayview/Wellington branch for their support in sponsoring the team.

The PeeWee AE Tigers have gotten off to a record of 13-3-3 to start the season.
