Norm Cook turns 100

Birthday wishes go out to Norm Cook who turned 100 on Saturday, May 28.
Norm is a long time Aurora resident and ran Norm Cook Menswear on Yonge Street.
He and his late wife Norma, moved to Aurora in 1957 from Brampton with their three children Beth, Jim and Mary.
When asked by his five grandchildren was there anything he attributes to his longevity, he said, “Keep active! Physically and socially.”
He was a member of many associations, including the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 385 Aurora (received his 70 year pin), the Aurora Lions Club, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the Aurora United Church and more.
He continued to skate with the seniors up until he was 92.
As a veteran of the Second World War, he decided to live at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre just over five years ago.
He is very involved with their activities and gets around riding on his scooter.
He receives and reads The Auroran so he is always updated with the town.
Happy 100th Birthday Norm! You're the best!
Best wishes from your family and friends

Beth Smith
