Instead, this time, a broad spectrum of good people are having to find a way to vote against bad actions and bad ideas of a party brought to power through an out-dated system of voting. The wrongs committed by the Conservative Party are too many and too deep for a letter to the editor, but some recent books, written by scientists, economists and journalists, hint at the problems: The War on Science; The Arrogant Autocrat; Party of One; The Carbon Bubble; Unaccountable. Steven Harper and his Party have fought continuously with scientists, judges and journalists - people who, by nature and training, seek truth. The point here is that, even if you like your local Conservative candidate as a person, that is not a good enough reason to vote for her or him this time. It is vital, for the health of Canada and the preservation of our values, that Harper's Reform-Conservatives be defeated. Then, true Conservatives should make every effort to take back their Party. I hope that this is the last election where Canadians will have to vote strategically.
