The Aurora Seniors Association invites you to an Evergreen Choir Christmas Concert on Saturday, December 13 at 2.30 p.m., with a guest appearance by a brass quintet. Tickets are $5. Light refreshments will be served at intermission. The concert is sponsored by Hollandview Trail Retirement Community. Tickets are available at the reception desk at the Aurora Seniors’ Centre.

THE HOLIDAY BAZAAR
Another successful event as expressed by event chair Carol Hedenberg: This year we saw lots of familiar faces and a lot of new faces selling amazing things. We were able to use all our senses at the sale: smelling, seeing, feeling and tasting. Our Bazaar has become a sale; people want to come to buy wonderful things and it is a place where vendors want to sell the wonderful things. We are successful, and we can only be successful with all the hard work from the volunteers that make it happen. Thank you to all the volunteers for their time and energy!

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER
Our Annual Christmas Dinner will be held Wednesday, December 17, at the Aurora Seniors’ Centre. Doors open at 5.30 p.m., with dinner at 6.30 p.m., and entertainment at 7.30 p.m. Cash Bar, Entertainer: Cara Chisholm. Tickets: Members $30, Non-Members $40. (Tickets non-refundable after December 9). Sponsored by Sunrise Senior Living. Tickets now on sale at our reception desk. Don’t delay tickets are selling fast.

BOOK CLUB
The Book Club of the Aurora Seniors Association meets twice a month for nine months of the year. Our “Quiet Months” are June, July and August. Meetings are usually held in the Library at the Seniors Centre. Our meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Monday of each month at 1.30 p.m. If Monday is a holiday, we will meet on the following Friday.
The Book Club reads and reviews books. Each year members submit titles of books they would like to read. These may be current novels, classics or biographies. The members then vote and agree on the books we will review. In past years the Book Club has received grant money and these funds help to defray the cost of the books. Each member then pays the balance owing. If you are interested in joining the group please leave your name at the Seniors’ Centre Reception desk.
