Walk For Hope was soggy, but successful

September 24, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Brenda and I would like to thank the wonderful people who joined us on this past rainy Saturday, September 13, to Walk for Hope.
The walkers, the over 20 hardworking volunteers (and most of them students), Andy Frost who exuberantly emceed, Joann Jones for warming us up, Sarah Carmosino for the divine singing, and MP Lois Brown for her genuine support of us.
We also thank the many sponsors and supporters who donated treats, silent auction items, and goodies for our swag bags.
This was an emotional event for Brenda and I and we could not have accomplished a successful Walk of Hope without the contributions of all.
Thank you Aurora for helping us raise awareness and funds for Ovarian Cancer Canada, over $110,000 over the seven years we have functioned.
One day there will be a means of early detection for ovarian cancer and Aurora will be a small part of that.

Gayle Palmer, Co-Chair
Aurora Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope
