Mayors shouldn’t be “peeking over workmen’s shoulders”

September 24, 2014   ·   0 Comments

In reading Steve McKenna’s letter to the editor, it occurred to this reader that he knew more about sidewalk repair and sloppy workmanship going on on his street than he did about dangling participles, followed by a dig at our own present mayor, with no specifics, followed by an ambiguous general rant about “the destruction of Aurora properties,” “despoiling Aurora with new developments”, again with no specifics, and, oh, yes, winding up with voicing admiration of John Gallo’s mayoral campaign.
Again, there was no mention of this Councillor’s accomplishments or suitability, it was his campaign that would warrant his vote.
I don’t want my mayor to be spending five minutes peeking over workmen’s shoulders, critiquing their work. I want my mayor looking after the business of the Town, future development and planning down the road – a job he was elected to do.
