This month, the Atom AE Tigers Season kicked off with the Orangeville Early Bird Tournament.

Due to injury and schedule conflicts, the Tigers played the entire tournament without a full roster of skaters. However, the team bonded tightly together and found a way to support one another in moments of need. True credit goes to the players and their families for showing resiliency and humility throughout the first week of play.

Game One ended in a closely-played 2-2 tie with the host team, the Orangeville Flyers. Game 2 featured a strong effort by the Tigers against the Barrie Colts, as the back and forth affair ended with an exciting third period and a full-effort Tigers win, 2-1. In Game 3, the defence stepped up and delivered a strong performance, helping the Tigers to a 6-1 win over Georgina. Game 4 featured a shutout performance, as the team emerged victorious in the semi-final game against Centre Wellington, 4-0. Game 5, the championship game, featured the Tigers vs. the Orangeville Flyers.

In what was another strong team performance, the Tiger offence/defence played hard and was supported by solid goaltending, leading to a championship game victory, 3-1.

In the span of 48 hours, the Tigers played five games, never once lacking in effort, focus, or teamwork. The early bird championship is a nice start for the team, and speaking of team, every active roster player has already scored a point this season.
