A thank you note in search of a recipient

September 17, 2014   ·   0 Comments

On Wednesday, September 10, I was standing on the corner of Bayview and Wellington waiting for a bus. I didn’t have a jacket or umbrella or anything having just come from work at the Aurora Toyota Dealership. So, here comes the rain, I missed the bus and have to wait for another.
It starts pouring and there is no shelter. I was out there for maybe 15 to 20 minutes and I heard a horn honk. A lady had stopped in her car and asked if I would like a ride, to which I was worried of getting her car wet because I was soaked clean through.
I never saw this lady before and she doesn’t know me, she was on her way to have dinner with her two sisters, and her name is Margaret. She has a daughter that volunteers at a nursing home.
This goes to show you kindness is bread within. I want to say thank you to this lady. She had no idea what a blessing it was. The world would be a nicer place with more people like her in it.
Please publish in case she may see it. I have no other way to say thank you and let others know just how kind some people are.

Marilyn McWilliams

(Editor’s Note: We’re happy to do so, Marilyn, to highlight the Good Samaritans in our community. But, remember kids, don’t accept rides from strangers!)
