Sport Aurora Breakfast of Champions Spotlight: Meet Spectrum Baton Club MVP, Amanda D’Attolico

September 10, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Amanda is in her 10th year of twirling with Spectrum, and she truly lives and breathes the sport!

Recently at the Canadian Baton Twirling Championships in Calgary Alberta, Amanda won the Gold Medal in Senior Women’s BN solo, and was a member of two teams that captured gold in their divisions – Senior Dance Twirl Team, and Junior CBTF Twirl Team.

Amanda’s dedication to her sport is evident to everyone. Baton twirling is truly her priority. She normally trains four nights a week throughout the year. Amanda is a recipient of the Spectrum Athlete of the Year Award, and Outstanding Achievement Award.

Last year Amanda became an accredited Level 1 CBTF Coach and enjoys working with the little ones and passing on her love of baton twirling to them! Her kind and sunny personality make her a favourite of her students and teammates alike.

Amanda is entering Grade 11 at Newmarket’ Sacred Heart Catholic Secondary School, where she is an honour student, and also manages to hold down a part time job when she is not twirling or studying.

In Amanda’s words: “While I may be a little bit biased, I would have to say that baton twirling is the most amazing sport in the world. The skills I have learned, the people I have met, and the experiences I have had through twirling are irreplaceable and so valuable to my life. I love this sport more than anything else!”

Congratulations Amanda!
