Jazz Fest finds footing in Newmarket – despite Mother Nature

August 27, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Like many thousands of people who attended the highly successful Newmarket Jazz+ Festival on the long weekend, we were treated to multi-talented and high quality entertainment. It was unfortunate that “Mother Nature” decided to dampen the festivities. Kudos go to the support and technical teams and volunteers who managed to keep water levels under control so that the programs could continue.
A very special thanks must be given to George and Sher St. Kitts for organizing and hosting this marvellous event.
We would also like to thank Aurora Councillors who voted against the Aurora Jazz Festival and thus deprived the community of holding this wonderful festival in our own backyard. We will not forget your questionable decisions on Election Day.
Aurora Councillors, and especially Councillor Buck, rejected the Aurora Jazz Festival for questionable reasons, such as fencing in Town Park, and then approved fencing for Ribfest. Just a little bit of hypocrisy.
