Over 20 groups to benefit from 2019 Hoedown

Over 20 organizations serving York Region and beyond will share in the proceeds from this year’s Magna Hoedown, Neighbourhood Network announced Monday.

The Magna Hoedown is the largest annual fundraiser in York Region and, since its inception as a backyard barbecue over 30 years ago, has generated over $13 million for community groups.

Sharing in this year’s fundraising efforts are Abuse Hurts, Autism Ontario and Kerry’s Place Autism Services, Aurora FC Soccer, the Aurora Minor Hockey Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of York and Epilepsy York Region, Community Living Central York, DeafBlind Ontario Services, Easter Seals Ontario, Hospice Georgina & Georgina Arts Centre & Gallery, the Lake Simcoe Soccer Club, Learning Disabilities Association of York Region, Literacy Council York-Simcoe & Learning Centre for Georgina, Marquee Theatrical Productions, Newmarket Minor Hockey Association, Pulsars Gymnastics Club, St. John’s Ambulance of York Region, The Food Bank of York Region, Victim Services of York Region, the Women’s Centre of York Region, and York Pride Fest.

The 2019 Magna Hoedown will take place Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14 at Magna’s Aurora Headquarters.

Headliners for both evenings are yet to be announced. Event and raffle tickets will go on sale in July.
