PARSA’S PERSPECTIVE

It has been 9 months since the June 7 election.

The time has simply flown by, and I am proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish so far.

During the course of the past nine months, we have brought forward substantive changes to help bring about a better, and more prosperous future for the province. It is no secret that due to many of the decisions of the previous government, this province was heading toward an uncertain future. Since being elected we have worked hard to right the ship and plot a course based on reason, reality and practicality. Some of the decisions that we have made have not been easy, or popular, but given the circumstances this province was facing, we took steps to ensure Ontario and Ontarians are given a chance to be successful.

Spring is right around the corner, and traditionally this means it is a time for new beginnings and renewed hope. It is also the time of year when many cultures, including the Persian culture, celebrate their New Year (Nowruz).

Nowruz, by definition, means a new day. It is a time when families, friends and neighbours come together to usher in a new year. Moreover, during this festive month, families and households spend their time embarking upon the age-old ritual of spring cleaning. This tradition is largely a symbolic and practical ritual of clearing out the old and making room for the new.

Essentially, this age-old tradition is something that transcends cultural practice, and translates into a concept that we should all use in every aspect of life. We should always be looking at ways in which we can improve the lives and outlooks of, not just ourselves, but our family, friends, community and province.

This spring, our government, for the people, will be looking to do just that. We are ambitiously looking to clear out the old, outdated, and inefficient ways of doing business so that we can make way for things that will improve and benefit, not just only a few, but the lives of all Ontarians.

Our government will continuously be implementing strategies that will make laws and regulations more efficient, processes more streamlined, and life more affordable for everyone in this province. This mantra is a concept that everyone in our government, including myself, has embraced, and will continuously strive towards as we embark upon the spring and summer months.

As always, I would like to end off by saying, I am here to serve the residents of Aurora – Oak Ridges – Richmond Hill. If you are a resident of this riding and require assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out, and I will do everything I can to serve you.
