A grand total of $17,532 was enough to put a smile on the faces of the dozens of participants in the annual Terry Fox Run held behind the Aurora Seniors’ Centre on Sunday morning.
Mayor Geoff Dawe was on hand to give his support, praising Aurora’s dedication for the event for the past 37 years.
“Something like this can go on so successfully for so long because of the folks that come out year after year to support it,” said Dawe. “It’s what really does make Aurora such a great place to live in.”
Local band Willin’ and Abel provided the soundtrack for the day, as well as the national anthem.
Organizer Darlene Morrison would like to thank all of the volunteers involved in making the day a success.
