The Aurora Museum & Archives has planned a wide range of activities for this year’s Culture Days, which will take place on Saturday, September 30.
The activities include everything from a high-tech scavenger hunt, a music festival, to a free tour of an international photo exhibition – all conveniently located in Town Park!
The day will begin in the old Armoury with the launch of our latest online initiative Hidden Aurora.
This is a web-based mobile scavenger hunt, developed in partnership with Brainy Games, that sends players on a quest to uncover secrets that are hidden all around Town. The game will begin promptly at 10.15 a.m. and will run for approximately one hour. We encourage you to visit hiddenaurora.ca to pre-register.
Next up is the inaugural Trailblazer Music Festival, which is taking over the Armoury and rounding out our celebration of Town Park 150!
From 12 noon to 2 pm there will be an open mic session followed by live bands from 3 to 10 pm.
The Trailblazer Music Festival is a partnership between the Aurora Museum & Archives and Jared Stafford that aims to promote local musicians by showcasing their original content.
To top the day off, the Town of Aurora is incredibly fortunate to be hosting the international photo exhibition Making Peace – an outdoor photo exhibition that will be in Town Park from September 29 – November 19.
As part of our September 30 Culture Days celebration, the curator of the exhibition, Ashley Woods, will be giving free public tours at 12.30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.
There truly is something for everyone and we hope you’ll join us for our celebration of Culture Days!
