Double 150th Anniversary marked in Canada Day bash

Canada wasn't the only part of our lives marking its 150th Anniversary last week. Town Park, one of Aurora's favourite green spaces, also marked its 150th anniversary with an old-fashioned afternoon of family fun, before Music in the Park took over with a tribute to Heart. Before Saturday morning's traditional Canada Day parade, kids were invited to leave their mark outside the Aurora Public Library with chalk drawings wishing Canada a Happy Birthday.

Following the Parade, festivities shifted to Lambert Willson Park for a full day of fun and an evening of music and fireworks. Here, MP Kyle Peterson, Aurora Mayor Geoff Dawe, and Ulrika Liljeberg, Mayor of Leksand, Sweden, Aurora's Twin Town, cut the Sesquicentennial cake.
