Suspects sought following pharmacy robbery

Two male suspects are being sought by York Regional Police after a narcotics robbery at an Aurora pharmacy.
On Friday afternoon, just after 5.30 p.m., two male suspects entered a pharmacy located on Yonge Street, south of Wellington Street West.
Police say one of the suspects approached the employee and forced him against the wall, holding him there while a second suspect went to the narcotics safe and took fentanyl and other prescription narcotics.
The suspects, who are described as wearing dark-coloured clothing, sunglasses, and bandannas covering their faces, left the store on foot and the store employees were not physically injured.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit at 1-866-876-5423 x6631, or anonymously by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIP, going online to www.1800222tips.com or texting TIPYORK and your message to CRIMES starting with the word York.
York Regional Police continue to warn the public about the dangers associated with the recreational use of illegal drugs, especially fentanyl patches, as people may not know about the risks associated with this drug.
Fentanyl is an opioid-based pain killer roughly 100 times stronger than morphine.
Recreational drug users who cut or manipulate a fentanyl patch and ingest, inject, or smoke a gel form of the drug should be aware that a fatal overdose can occur.
Fentanyl is extremely potent and once a patch is altered there is no way of determining the concentration of the substance.
Numerous deaths from fentanyl overdose have occurred across North America and police urge individuals to only use fentanyl as prescribed by a medical doctor.
