By Jake Courtepatte

A pair of York-Simcoe AAA clubs brought home the ultimate hardware at the AAA OMHA Championships last weekend.
The Minor Atom Express traveled to Clarington for a tournament-style championship with the Halton Hurricanes, Clarington Toros, Southern Tier Admirals, and Markham Waxers, coming out on top without a loss in the series.
Three wins and a tie led to a final matchup with the hometown Toros, with the Express squeaking out a 1 – 0 victory to claim the championship.
The team celebrated with a ride through Main Street in Schomberg on the fire department's 1929 fire truck.
The Bantam Express also earned gold, losing just one game in their finals weekend, held at St. Andrew's College.
After putting up just six losses in the regular season, the Bantams took down the Barrie Jr. Colts, Niagara North Stars, and Oakville Rangers en route to their provincial championship.
