There will be a new vendor for you to meet at our next indoor market on October 29: our Hallowe’en Party at the Armoury.
Wendy Trumble of Creatures of Comfort Creations will have a table for the first of two visits.
Wendy grew up in northern Ontario in Kapuskasing and Elliot Lake and attended school at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She worked in North Bay for about 10 years before moving to Toronto for work. She now resides in the north Richmond Hill area.
She has always been a creative person. Even as a child she was making items such as knitted scarves, cross-stitch, baked goods and wood worked creations.
A few years ago, she began to attend craft shows as a vendor during the Christmas season. Having several cats and being an avid animal lover, Wendy was inspired to create Creatures of Comfort Creations. She began making handmade wooden deluxe pet beds for cats and small dogs and sold them mostly online. She also makes catnip infused toys for cats and several dog accessories which she will feature at the indoor markets on October 29 and December 10 at the historic Aurora Armoury.
Especially for the holiday season, Wendy makes a variety of gifts-in-a-jar, which consists of mason jars filled with dry baked goods’ ingredients along with the recipes. These make wonderful hostess, teacher or co-worker gifts. She will also feature hot chocolate gift sets, BBQ rub spice sets and pink Himalayan salt gifts. In addition, she will have homemade (canned) salsa, cranberry applesauce and fresh Roasted Butternut Squash soup in jars to take home. The soup will be available to sample at the Market.
Wendy says that she loves to travel whenever she can, especially to destinations with warm white sand beaches. However, when not travelling, Wendy will accept orders for the holiday season from those who are interested.
The farmers who are expected to be at the October 29 indoor market include: 19th Avenue Farm, the Abbott Family Farm, Oakridges Finest, Beaver River Organics and Pioneer Brand Honey.
Among the food vendors, will be: Catharina’s Kitchen, Creatures of Comfort, Green River Coffee, Guilt Free Goodness, Jan’s Country Pantry, John Abraham, Nerpy’s Inc., Nicolle’s Cakes and Nutmeg Bakeshop.
The artisan’s will include: Captain Ted;s Knick-Knack-a Tory, Creepy Tours, Eurasia Jewellery, Eva Nagy, Green Leaf Designs, Kibo Natural Body Care, Limitless Jewels, Michelle Zikovitz, Out of My Mind, The Bear’s Den and Wood U.
We will also have another new vendor who will be offering chair massages and a Girl Guide group selling their famous cookies.
For this special Hallowe’en themed day at the market, we will be featuring one of our own, David Heard, spinning appropriate music from his own vinyl collection. It will be exciting and different from anything we have done before.
There will be a treat for each child who arrives wearing a costume, Hallowe’en treats in general and Hallowe’en themed crafts for the children. This promises to be an especially fun day so do plan to visit the indoor market in the Armoury on Saturday, October 29, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
See you at the Market!
