Aurora woman fighting for life after domestic assault

Investigators with the York Regional Police Integrated Domestic Violence Unit have arrested a 39-year-old man following a domestic-related incident in the Town of Aurora.
On Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at approximately 2 a.m., police responded to a residence in the area of St. John’s Sideroad and William Graham Drive in the Town of Aurora for a 9-1-1 call. When officers arrived they located a man and a woman with injuries. Both people were transported to hospital where the injuries to the woman were deemed to be life-threatening. Investigators have determined that the parties were husband and wife and they had a dispute which escalated.
The husband, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He remains in custody.
