Fort Mac concert raised over $3,600 for Red Cross

May 25, 2016   ·   0 Comments

On Monday, May 16, the York Regional Police Male Chorus held a fundraising concert on behalf of the Fort McMurray Wildfire Victims at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic High School in Aurora.
There were approximately 150 that attended and a total of $3,675 was received in donations.
The donations have been turned over to the Canadian Red Cross.
Our chorus would like to take this opportunity to thank the following: the Administration and Caretaking staff at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic High School for their generosity in allowing us the use of their auditorium on such short notice; Bob Ince, the General Manager of The Auroran newspaper for an advertisement to make the community aware of the concert; 88.5 “the Jewel” radio station for announcing the event and the results the following day; York Regional Police for their support by printing posters on short notice, the members of the Male Chorus for their participation in the event and most of all those from Aurora and surrounding communities that attended.
It was a great feeling for our members to be able to help our fellow Canadians in western Canada as they now prepare to rebuild their lives!

Superintendent Lowell McClenny (Retired)
