Mayor Geoff Dawe has been re-elected Chair of the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA).
He was re-elected last week for a second consecutive term.
“Receiving the continued support of my colleagues on the Board of Directors means a great deal to me,” he said. “This past year as Chair of the LSRCA has been a highlight of my career and I am thrilled to continue on in that role. I expect 2016 will be even more exciting as the Authority begins implementing our new five-year strategic plan.”
This new strategic plan will “mark the beginning of a new chapter” for the LSRCA with a “Vision to Action, Action to Results” including a new vision and mission that will be a renewal of, rather than a departure from, their previous mission and values to “work with our community to protect and restore the Lake Simcoe watershed by leading research, policy and action” while envisioning a “thriving environment that inspires and sustains us for generations to come.”
