Mackenzie Marsh lacks proper parking, says reader

Have you recently tried to park your car to go to the Mackenzie Marsh at St. John’s Sideroad?
Currently, people park their cars on a muddy, grassy field off of the Hadley Grange roadway. Puddles and deep depressions of tire tracks and ruts are cut into the field. People could slip and fall due to these hazardous conditions.
There isn’t a safe area for parking for hikers to park their cars to access the Tim Jones Trail at the Mackenzie Marsh.
After correspondence to the Councillors and the Mayor of Aurora, I received a notification, from a Town Councillor, who told me that the Director of Parks and Recreation writes “the lands in question are not in the ownership of The Town of Aurora.”
The Director continues to say that “we are aware that the area is need of repair. We have attempted to determine the ownership of this area, but his investigation into the name of and address of the ownership has been unsuccessful.”
I am baffled by this response. How can we get something done now to get a safe and adequate parking lot? The lot is important so that hikers can access the trail system.
