“Facts” should lead to u-turn on refugees

November 25, 2015   ·   0 Comments

(An open letter to Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill MP Leona Alleslev)

It is foolhardy for our government to implement the fast-tracking of 25,000 Syrian refugees in light of the information coming from the Paris attacks.
It is a fact that there is a counterfeiting industry operating in Europe and the Middle East which fraudulently produces Syrian passports and I.D. The lack of valid verification for background checks should be disturbing to any reasoning person. Evidence of a fake Syrian passport has been found on an Islamic extremist party to killing and injuring 500 innocent people shutting down a major city. How can we seriously vet the many refugees who have no identification at all?
Even if a handful of these extremists enter our country, we will be looking at acts of terrorism against our population.
Where are Syria’s oil wealthy neighbors Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates who have not taken in one refugee? They share the same language, culture and religion yet no one is pressuring them to step up.
Make no mistake, we are up against a religious political fervor that wants to destroy our way of life and whose adherents celebrate every life they take. Every Islamist who dies while doing so is considered a martyr.
As our representative in Parliament, please examine the crisis in Europe with the influx of those who believe in Sharia law and a caliphate. This ideology cannot exist with our rights and freedoms in a liberal democracy. Moderate Muslims have expressed concern with these developments as well.
Justin Trudeau needs to reconsider his announcement in light of these disturbing facts.
