CHAMP proud to carry torch of Remembrance

I am a graduate of The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program, and its Operation Legacy, which is made up of members and graduates of CHAMP who are dedicated to teaching the younger generation about the importance of remembrance.
Amputee veterans started The War Amps nearly 100 years ago, and later created CHAMP to share their knowledge and assistance with us. Operation Legacy allows us to honour them and carry their legacy into the future.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. On Remembrance Day, it is important for Canadians to reflect on the significance of this anniversary and the sacrifices made so we could lead better lives.
Operation Legacy has given me the privilege to participate in many events that will always stay in my heart. I cherish the times I get to talk with honourable veterans because hearing their stories first-hand makes me appreciate how hard they fought for our country. I am honoured to pass on the torch of remembrance to younger generations, so they too can be proud to live in this amazing country.
