George Street’s “Dot Project” was team effort: teacher

May 27, 2015   ·   0 Comments

Thank you for your article about the George Street Closing Celebration and our Dot Project.
There were actually two “brainchildren” behind the project, Deb Sinyard and Heather Miller (a.k.a. The Crayola Lady). Deb brought the book “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds to our first meeting and wondered if we could utilize some of the messages in our celebration.
Deb recruited artist Heather Miller to assist us. Heather designed our project, provided the materials with the assistance of Crayola and spent a full day working with all the students in our school. We thank Deb, Heather and Crayola for helping our students create a special art piece that we will bring to our new Wellington P.S. to mark George Street’s place in time.
